At White Rose Rugby, we can offer high-quality rugby programmes tailored specifically for colleges and post-16 educational settings across Yorkshire. 

All our coaches hold at least the England Rugby Coaching Award, and our staff have experience in a range of settings including senior rugby and junior development pathways. This breadth of experience allows us to provide the best quality coaching to fit the needs of each group we work with, ensuring every session is safe, engaging, and aligned with national standards. 

Rugby union is a sport where every student can participate, develop, and thrive. White Rose Rugby aims to expand and enhance rugby provision within colleges, encouraging learners of all abilities to engage with the sport while helping institutions strengthen links with local and regional rugby clubs. 

Since launching, our initiative has engaged over 750 state education providers, and we can bring this experience to support colleges in creating healthier, more active, and more inclusive environments. 

White Rose Rugby can work with colleges to build sustainable rugby programmes that engage learners across all pathways, from recreational participation to competitive performance, and integrate smoothly within both curriculum and enrichment offers. 

Supporting the Delivery of the Pearson Level 3 National Extended BTEC Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development 

White Rose Rugby has experience supporting colleges in the delivery of the Pearson Level 3 National Extended BTEC Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development. Through collaborative planning and embedded practical coaching opportunities, we have contributed to a range of units across the qualification. Our partnership approach enables learners to apply theory in real coaching environments and gain valuable industry insight. 

• Applied Coaching Experience:
  We have provided opportunities for learners to gain practical coaching experience by assisting with or leading aspects of rugby delivery under the guidance of our qualified coaches, supporting units such as Developing Coaching Skills and Applied Coaching Skills.
• Performance Analysis Opportunities:
  Our sessions and fixtures have been used as live environments for students to collect and analyse performance data, helping to meet the requirements of units such as Sports Performance Analysis and Health, Wellbeing and Sport.
• Work Placement & Industry Engagement:
  White Rose Rugby has acted as an industry placement provider, offering structured work experience hours aligned with BTEC expectations. This has included coaching delivery, session planning, officiating, and event support.
• Strength & Conditioning and Athlete Development:
  We have incorporated elements of athletic development and physical literacy into our work with learners, supporting their understanding of applied practice within units such as Sport and Exercise Physiology and Fitness Training.
• Community Coaching & Rugby Pathways Insight:
  Our team has delivered guest workshops, career talks, and insights into club and community rugby pathways, contributing to units including Sport Development, Safeguarding, Careers in the Sport Sector, and Sports Leadership.

Through this support, White Rose Rugby has helped colleges enhance learner experience, strengthen curriculum delivery, and develop the applied coaching skills essential for progression within the sports sector.
