PRIMARY SPORTS & ACTIVITIES

Many primary teachers report feeling underconfident in their PE knowledge and delivery a challenge that can make teaching such an important subject feel daunting. With only a quarter of schools rating their PE lessons as “good,” in an Ofsted survey, it’s no surprise that confidence is low and enthusiasm can sometimes fade. Yet PE plays a vital role in supporting children’s physical, mental, and social wellbeing and every teacher deserves to feel equipped to teach it with pride. That’s where White Rose comes in.

Inspire the next generation of leaders with the White Rose Active Ambassadors Award –

A dynamic programme designed to empower Upper Key Stage 2 pupils to become confident, active role models within your school community.

This award doesn’t just promote physical activity – it builds leadership, teamwork, and confidence. Through a fully planned, delivered, and assessed progressive learning journey, pupils develop the skills and mindset needed to inspire others and make lasting, positive change.

Rooted in our trusted 3Is framework – Intent, Implementation, and Impact – the programme delivers measurable results for pupils and schools alike. It also helps your school progress towards achieving the School Games Marks of Silver, Gold, or Platinum, demonstrating excellence in PE, sport, and leadership.

Teachers love it too – the award reduces workload by providing ready-to-use plans, resources, and assessments that seamlessly integrate into your PE and enrichment offer. It’s a powerful way to evidence effective use of the PE and Sports Premium, recognised by Ofsted as a model of best practice.

From developing young sports leaders to nurturing essential life skills, the White Rose Active Ambassadors Award helps pupils understand what it takes to be a successful leader – both on and off the field. By focusing on the ‘whole child’, it builds the foundation for lifelong learning, wellbeing, and even future employability.

With a blend of practical and theory-based activities, pupils don’t just learn about leadership – they live it. The result? Confident, capable young ambassadors who inspire others and create a more active, positive, and connected school community.
