Our Summer FSM Camps

Throughout the summer holidays we will have various FSM Holiday camps running at both Baildon RUFC and Westville House School. Our camps host a full range of oppurtunities for your child/children, find more details below.

Our sessions will have a focus on physical wellbeing and enjoyment. The sessions we run will be sequential, and game based with direct links to the Primary School National curriculum to ensure the children are making physical progress as well as enjoying being active throughout all of the sessions that we run. We will enable the participants be creative by developing their own variations of games played and reviewing them afterwards.

Included in the daily/weekly planning there will be enrichment activities, including nature spotting and creative arts including drawing, design sports equipment/clothing, local history learnings, understanding  issues relating to litter and the positives of recycling.

Our FSM Camps will also have various other opportunities, these opportunities include:

Nutritional Education

During the week the children will be tasked with completing a healthy/balanced menu/meal and on Fridays the children will help with the preparation of this meal. We will also include taste testing and menu variations.

Signposting and referrals

Working with Baildon Town Council (Cllr Maggie Town & Ruth Logan) and the local contact of the emergency services (Police – Sgt Terri Green and Fire – Bradford Disctrict) we propose have regular ‘drop in’ sessions. Our aim is to enable families, parents & carers to ‘drop in’ and meet local representatives of Baildon Town Council – so that they can help signpost families and carers to appropriate support services

Food and Education for families & carers

We aim to work with our contact at Leeds Beckett University (BSC Nutrition) to provide further information, menus and advise etc to support healthy eat and affordable meal plans/dietary information to participants.
