The Askham Bryan College Rugby Union team was re‑established in April 2025, marking a return to AoC Sport competition after an almost six‑year hiatus.
The Rugby Union programme provides students with the opportunity to challenge themselves in a competitive environment, developing resilience, teamwork, and discipline while balancing academic study with the technical and tactical demands of rugby.
Training and preparation for league fixtures have been supported by White Rose Rugby’s Tom Parnell, who has played a key role in enhancing the quality and consistency of sessions. His involvement has contributed to improvements in players’ physical conditioning, technical skills and overall readiness for competitive match play.
The Rugby Union team currently sits top of the AoC Yorkshire and Humber North league and is looking to build on this success as the season continues.
