As a White Rose Rugby Coach, a successful candidate will deliver a range of Rugby sessions as well as delivering a Sports Leadership Qualification. At White Rose the planning, assessing, and reviewing of sessions is of paramount importance to ensure any sessions that are led by the Rugby coach provide all participants with the best possible chance to achieve the objectives set out.

The role of the Rugby Coach will be to support teacher understanding and confidence around the delivery of Rugby into both Primary and Secondary provisions. This will include session planning to ensure enjoyment and participation as well as excellence and performance in others.

This is a part time role, and a successful candidate will be expected to travel to place of work and as such a current and valid driving license is desirable but not essential.

Throughout employment, the role will provide the opportunity to gain experience leading and coaching fun, inclusive and engaging Rugby activities that help people of all ages to change their behaviour and adopt and maintain a physically active lifestyle including lifelong involvement in sport through leadership roles. Alongside this, you will have the opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge to help gain a range of abilities as shown below:

  • An ability to plan, deliver, evaluate and reflect on delivery of sport and in particular Netball and activity opportunities within a local community, predominantly for inactive customers from different sections of society.
  • The ability to work in partnership with, amongst others, local sports clubs, youth work settings, community centres, educational institutions and public service personnel, to deliver engaging and sustainable opportunities for people to come together and get active.
  • An understanding of how to modify behaviour and style and use customer insight to tailor activities that appeal to different audiences from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • A range of tools and techniques that are needed to offer different activities in different environments. This includes both formal and informal activities.

White Rose will also provide the opportunity for the successful candidate to pursue further CPD provisions including NGB qualifications funded by the company.

The successful candidate will also be empowered to increase their own working role through curriculum and programme development to increase the number of working hours available through White Rose.

White Rose can provide the successful applicant with an excellent opportunity to deliver within and experience a wide range of educational settings. Currently our work streams include primary school delivery, secondary school delivery, mixed sports delivery, sports Leaders delivery, Disability/SEN delivery, College delivery and other Sporting delivery.
